Western University of Health Sciences – Dental Simulation Center

Western University’s commitment to providing cutting-edge dental education took a leap forward with the complete renovation of Sim Center 2. Our team was privileged to be entrusted with designing and installing a comprehensive audio-visual system that elevates the learning experience for both students and faculty.

At the heart of the system lies an advanced Crestron Control System. Imagine a single interface that grants effortless control over the entire classroom environment – audio, video, conferencing equipment and more – all at your fingertips. This centralized control empowers instructors to focus on teaching, not fumbling with complex equipment. Gone are the days of tangled wires and frustrating signal loss. We incorporated a cutting-edge Crestron AVoverIP video distribution system. Think of it as a digital highway for audio and video signals. This innovative technology ensures crystal-clear image and sound transmission between various sources like cameras, computers, and display screens throughout the center and between Sim Centers 1 & 2.

The magic doesn’t stop there. We strategically placed Biamp Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) to further enhance the functionality of Sim Center 2. These powerful processors act as the audio brain of the system, facilitating two-way communication between Sim Center 1 and 2. Imagine students in one center seamlessly interacting with instructors or peers in the other. Additionally, the DSPs ensure exceptional sound reinforcement for lectures and presentations while also supporting clear communication during conferencing needs.

We understand that even the most powerful technology is useless if it’s complicated to operate. That’s why the system features an intuitive touch panel user interface. With simple taps and swipes, instructors can control every aspect of the AV system, allowing them to focus on delivering exceptional dental education.

The successful renovation of Sim Center 2 is a testament to our commitment to creating innovative learning environments. This state-of-the-art AV system empowers Western University to prepare future dental professionals with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the ever-evolving field of dentistry.
